I’ve noticed in your article ‘Answering a Muslim Critic<\/a>‘ you have made several attempts to disrespect our Prophet Muhammad SAW. Now I am not a good Muslim, nor am I a sinless human being, but to me that is wrong. You have made the Prophet sound violent and merciless whereas there are plenty of examples that state otherwise. I understand that you are offended by the Muslim critic but even in your religion there must be people who can go to great heights to protect their religion, sometimes their way is unacceptable but there is a thing stated ‘being a better man’ that would reflect your beliefs too.<\/p>\n

I am not imposing anything on you, I am just a student a teenager, but I know that even your religion does not fancy offending other religions, and I was highly offended by parts of your article. In Islam, in Qur’an, Muslims are not allowed to force their religion upon anyone and we are ordered to highly respect other religions as man is given the free will to choose whatever he may.<\/p>\n

Does your religion say that? Does it allow you to speak ill of our Prophet, Jesus is our Prophet as is Muhammad. As far as I know the answer to these questions even according to Bible is no it does not allow that, for as far as religion is concerned it is about humanity, about morals, about spiritual peace, about love for one God, and abstaining from that which is wrong and not about going haywire on others’ beliefs. I would appreciate it if you see this positively instead of giving a controversial response.<\/p>\n\t

I’m sorry that you find truths stated about your own religion, documented from your own religious book, “offensive.” Stating facts with documentation to show the reliability of those statements is not disrespectful. It is an attempt to keep the points being made accurate.<\/p>\n

The fact that Christians do not accept Muhammad’s claims of being a prophet should not be surprising — no more surprising than Muslims do not accept Christians’ claims that Jesus is God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. … And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth<\/em>” (John 1:1-3, 14).<\/p>\n

Muhammad’s teachings were quoted from the Qur’an. You claim that it is not an accurate reflection of Islam, but you don’t document your view. There were times Muhammad showed mercy, but to only point to those times would not be an accurate portrayal of who Muhammad was and what he believed.<\/p>\n

Yes, the Muslim critic was wrong about Christianity, and evidence was given. This is how Christianity operates. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ<\/em>” (II Corinthians 10:3-4). True Christians don’t accept other beliefs. “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ<\/em>” (Galatians 1:6-10). We acknowledge that other beliefs exist, but we point out why those beliefs are false and show why the Christ in the New Testament is the one way of truth.<\/p>\n

I don’t mind having a reasoned discussion about belief systems and discussing what is sensible and logical. I expect the same from you as well. To point out that the Muslim view of Jesus contradicts the Bible’s teachings about Jesus is a part of that discussion. Pointing out that Muhammad’s teachings do not always match what is found in the Bible is also a part of that discussion. It doesn’t bother me that we currently disagree, such is expected since you choose to follow Muhammad and I follow Christ, that we will not see matters the same. That is not disrespect or an offense, merely a statement of fact.<\/p>\n
