“Fellowship” halls and kitchens<\/a>\u00a0in the church of Christ! \u00a0There are so many churches turning liberal in their teachings today that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find one that wants to adhere strictly to the teachings of the Bible.\u00a0\u00a0It seems like the preachers from Abilene Christian University grow more liberal with each new graduating class.\u00a0The church in our town has become so liberal that we now meet with a congregation about twenty miles away. \u00a0Unfortunately, they also have a kitchen and fellowship hall but they are somewhat more conservative than our local church. \u00a0A problem that I wrestle with is that if one says anything against the fellowship hall, he will be labeled as a troublemaker or one who is promoting division among the saints. \u00a0I find great encouragement in your sermons online and wish to likewise encourage you to keep on the straight and narrow path.<\/p>\nThank you!<\/p>\n\t

I thank you for the encouragement. Perhaps there is a sound congregation in your area that you haven’t heard of.<\/p>\n
It is true that people tend to want to be right and are unwilling to look at what they are doing objectively out of fear that they may be doing something wrong. Examining any issue in the light of God’s Word is not the cause of trouble. The thing to remember is to offer what God said, and not present it as your opinion. “If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen<\/em>” (I Peter 4:11). Opinions can be dismissed. God’s teaching cannot.<\/p>\n\tResponse:<\/h2>\n
