What is missing is a respect for the marriage covenant (Malachi 2:13-16). A covenant is a special vow before God and witnesses that lasts a lifetime or sometimes even longer. Marriage is not a matter of convenience or temporary status. Thus, what you are saying is that this man lied before God and others when he claimed to marry a woman. He did so for his own financial benefit, which would be a form of greed. Now that he believes he has what he wants, he thinks he can discard his vow and no one, including God, will care. It just doesn’t work that way.<\/p>\n
If you are considering marrying this man, don’t. His word is worthless. He is willing to sin just to gain an advantage. In regards to the teachings of Christ, he has no right to a second marriage since his original marriage covenant remains in effect until his wife’s death. Only if his wife had committed fornication would he be allowed to divorce her and marry someone else (Matthew 19:9).<\/p>\n
He made a bad choice. Now, he must live with the consequences of his decisions.<\/p>\n\t
He thinks, since he had an annulment, he is good to date and marry again. Also, his ex-wife was married a couple of times and has no belief in God. He is Catholic but doesn\u2019t go to church that much. I am a member of the church of Christ. He thinks I am crazy for trying to do what the Bible says.<\/p>\n\t
