I have a question. God commands us to forgive and this I accept but my question is: Why did God not forgive Lucifer, the devil? We need to follow the examples of God. Is there a reason why God refused to forgive Lucifer and the other angels that joined him? If God has people He cannot forgive, then we too must have people we cannot forgive if it meets the same condition.

Answer:

Forgiveness can only be offered if the person who committed the wrong repents and asks for forgiveness. “Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him” ” (Luke 17:3-4).

For example, it says of Esau: “Lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears” (Hebrews 12:16-17). Without a change in mind toward sin and a change in behavior, a debt of sin cannot be forgiven.

Therefore, the simple answer is that Satan and the angels that followed him never changed. “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).

Question: Hello, I just stumbled into your website.
