I know that God did not make nor designed a special person for you and there are millions of people on the planet with which we can possibly be happy. So is praying for a wife a useless prayer, even if you are praying for one for the right reasons? Like will God put someone in your life, so that you can choose to marry her? Or does it only depend on the person and how good you are at talking to women or how good looking you are or what type of qualities one has and one’s godly character?

Answer:

God teaches us to pray for all things, so asking God for help finding a spouse who will make you a better Christian and a better person is not a useless prayer. “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD” (Proverbs 18:22).

Fishermen know that if you want to catch a certain type of fish, you need the right bait and the right lure. Certain fish are attracted to certain lures. It is no different when looking for a companion. What you use to attract people is often what you get. So if you show off your muscles, then you are going to get women who are attracted to the physical, exterior looks of a man. Of course, there will always be someone else more attractive than you, so the odds are that such a woman will bounce from guy to guy. If you show off your wealth, you will attract women who want access to easy money. But if you show your faith in God, you’ll attract women who are looking for good Christian husbands, and often these are women who are good Christians as well.

Question: When it comes to marriage, I know that we are the ones who chose who we are with.
