One of my friends, who has been depressed, is a bit more open-hearted to Christianity than my other friends. I’ve seen her praying. She’s said to me she’s going to pray for something a few times. But she is bi, and she’s in love with a girl, who’s in love with her too. It makes her really happy.<\/p>\n
So if she would just come and ask me something like “Hey, can Christians be homosexual?” or something like that, what should I say? If I would say “no,” then it could make her angry or at least less open-hearted to Christianity, but if it is the truth (Is it? I\u00b4m not sure), I\u00b4m not going to lie about it and say ‘yes.’ I know you probably know that too and agree with it, but I said it just to be sure.<\/p>\n\t
One aspect of truth is that it doesn’t change. Truth comes from God and He said, “For I am the LORD, I do not change<\/em>” (Malachi 3:6). What is right doesn’t change because of circumstances or whether a person wants to hear the facts.<\/p>\n\n If a person only wants to be a Christian on their terms, then they are not willing to follow Christ, which is the meaning of Christianity. You would only be fooling yourself to think that she is open to Christianity in such a circumstance. “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it<\/em>” (Matthew 7:13-14).<\/p>\n Also, keep in mind that it is your responsibility to warn sinners about sin. It is a part of your concern for the welfare of others. “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul<\/em>” (Ezekiel 18:18-21).<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Question: One of my friends, who has been depressed, is a bit more open-hearted to Christianity than my other friends.
