I want to\u00a0get into a good university but my reputation in college is terrible. I am sure the teachers will predict low grades for me and\u00a0all of them do not think of me as a good student. Now I am trying to behave as a Christian should do, but how can I ever change people’s opinions of me?\u00a0How can I work really hard to get good grades if at the same time I\u00a0should be letting my light shine in front of others if I am busy all the time locked up in a room doing school work? How can\u00a0I possibly have time to talk to others and do good things for them?<\/p>\n\t

Letting your light shine is far more than sitting down with other people and talking about Jesus. Your light is shown in everything you do. So when you make moral choices not to do worldly things like your friends, that is letting your light shine. When you give good, steady work for your time, that is letting your light shine. When you talk to others politely and without trashy words, that is letting your light shine. Every<\/p>\n
One of the tricks of being a diligent worker is that getting things done in a timely manner leaves you more time later on. You don’t have to play catch up and so you work with less stress, which in turn allows you to get more done. “I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; and there it was, all overgrown with thorns; its surface was covered with nettles; its stone wall was broken down. When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man<\/em>” (Proverbs 24:30-34).<\/p>\n
Reputations are built over time, thus your new approach to life will take time to build up, just as it took time to create your old reputation. You may have to go to a lesser school for a while to establish your ability to handle higher-level work before you can transfer to the school you really want to attend.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
