As Job noted, “If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint, I will put off my sad face and wear a smile’<\/em>” (Job 9:27). You can’t change how you look until you change what you are thinking about. A part of the problem is that you’ve lost hope. You don’t think there will be someone else. If you are following after God, then you have to learn to put your trust in God. He will take care of things to make all work out for the best. “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God<\/em>” (Psalms 42:11).<\/p>\n Life is full of good and bad things. Because of events, you are focusing on the bad things. Instead, purposely focus on the good. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things<\/em>” (Philippians 4:8).
