Episcopals have been permitting marriages for homosexuals for many years. Where local politics don’t permit such marriages they have been getting around the roadblock by saying it is just a blessing on the civil union of the couple. In 2009, the Episcopal General Convention approved the writing of an official service for such unions, and this month they approved the final product.<\/p>\n

“At the Episcopal General Convention in Indianapolis, the House of Bishops voted 111-41, with three abstentions, to authorize a provisional rite for same-sex unions for the next three years.”<\/p>\n

“On Monday, several Episcopal bishops who spoke against the same-sex union liturgy warned about repercussions. ‘I believe it will put us, put the Episcopal Church, out of the Christian mainstream,’ said Bishop Edward Little of the Diocese of Northern Indiana. However, Bishop Edgar Budde argued that an official service was needed to honor and bless ‘lifelong same-sex couples’ who she said ‘have served Christ and Christ’s mission.'”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This didn’t put the Episcopal church out of mainstream Christianity; they left the Christian faith long ago. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 6:9-10). Since Episcopalians officially approve of fornication and homosexuality, so long as those involved are “committed,” there cannot be any doubt they have taken themselves out of Christian beliefs.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
