It is not a word found in the Bible, but it apply describes one of the characteristics of God. “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You” (Psalms 139:7-12). God’s presence is found everywhere. There is no place a man can go to escape God. There is no time when God doesn’t see what we are doing. “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).

This is one of the lies we tell ourselves. We assume that if we don’t see anyone, then no one else sees us. Thus, most evil is done at night when the wicked person thinks he is escaping notice. “Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the LORD, and their works are in the dark; they say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?” ” (Isaiah 29:15). Even if a deed is hidden from every other man, they forget that it cannot be hidden from God. “Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD” (Jeremiah 23:24).

When God says we will give an account of everything we do, He means exactly that. “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13). Unlike courts of men where evidence is questioned and critical evidence may not come to light, when we are standing before the judgment seat of God, everything is open and accurately presented.

Omnipresent also means that when we pray, we don’t have to run to a temple for God to hear our prayers.”Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him” (John 4:21-23). He is always present wherever we are. “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (I Timothy 2:8).

It also means that our prayers are answered wherever and whenever God desires. We don’t have to wait for God to come with an answer because He is already here.

Question: I was wondering if you could go over the omnipresent power of God.
