“Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?<\/em>” (I Corinthians 9:5).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The word “believing” translates the Greek word\u00a0adelphe<\/em>, which means “sister.” A preacher has a right to have a wife who is also a sister in Christ. The job of a preacher is hard enough without having a companion who believes differently than him and so would not work with him.
