Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. As it is written: &#8220;There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.&#8221; &#8220;Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit&#8221;; &#8220;The poison of asps is under their lips&#8221;; &#8220;Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.&#8221; &#8220;Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known.&#8221; There is no fear of God before their eyes&#8221;<\/em>&#8221; (Romans 3:9-18). God doesn&#8217;t have to wait for anyone to sin; it happens far too often.<\/p>\n<p>What God waits for is for people to repent. &#8220;<em>The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance<\/em>&#8221; (II Peter 3:9). God&#8217;s goal is to rescue you from your sins, not condemn you in your sins. You already have condemned yourself by your sins. God seeks to be able to show you mercy. &#8220;<em>For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil<\/em>&#8221; (John 3:16-19).<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Question: Does God wait for me to sin?
