Just because a person claims to be a Christian, it does not mean they are following Christ’s teachings. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world<\/em>” (I John 4:1).<\/p>\n God created life and He should know when life begins. Consistently through the Scriptures, whenever a woman has conceived, the life in her womb is referred to as a child, a baby, a son, or a daughter. (See\u00a0Genesis 25:21;\u00a0Job 3:3,\u00a016;\u00a0Hosea 12:3;\u00a0Luke 1:36,\u00a041,\u00a044.) In fact, the terms for a child in the womb are exactly the same as the terms for a child after it is born. God makes no distinction between the born and the unborn child. From the Bible’s viewpoint, life begins at conception.<\/p>\n This lack of distinction is important. People become very upset when a child is killed. And few things could be worse than a parent who deliberately kills his or her own children. God teaches parents to love their children (Psalms 127:3-5;\u00a0128:3-5;\u00a0Proverbs 22:6;\u00a0Ephesians 6:4;\u00a0Titus 2:4). The murder of any human being is strictly forbidden (Exodus 23:7;\u00a0Proverbs 6:16-17;\u00a0Revelation 21:8;\u00a022:15;\u00a0Matthew 15:19-20;\u00a0Romans 13:8-10). And the murder of an innocent child is specifically condemned (Matthew 2:16;\u00a0Hosea 13:16;\u00a0II Kings 8:12;\u00a0Acts 7:19;\u00a0Exodus 1:16-18;\u00a0Genesis 9:2-6;\u00a0Deuteronomy 27:25). If it is wrong to murder a child after its birth, then it must also be wrong to murder a child before its birth.<\/p>\n A child having an SS chromosome means the child will be shorter than average. That is what SS stands for: short stature. That is why abortion is wrong. People are killing children who do not meet their standards of acceptable living. Where would poor Zacchaeus be if his parents had such foolish doctors? “Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature<\/em>” (Luke 19:2-3). Accept that a child born is the child God entrusted you with. I’m more impressed by a local couple who found out that their child had a problem that would not allow him to live more than a few years. After getting over their grief, the couple determined that while they had the child, they would make his life as happy as they could so he could enjoy his brief time on earth. When he finally did die, they thanked God for loaning them such a precious gift.
