I was working for a company, and we were all sacked from the job. I have tried applying for other jobs, but no one wants to accept me. I am bad at having a great conversation with people. At the moment, I do not know what is happening to me in my life. I feel like committing suicide, but I always remember that I am the only person my mother has in life, aside from God, but I have not done anything to make her happy.<\/p>\n
Each time I try things, they go the other way. I am confused. I do not know what to do. I am at a crossroads. I feel God is far from me. Please, can you help me talk to God on my behalf? I have always asked Him about His plans for me, but he seems not to answer me.<\/p>\n\t
I’m sorry to hear about your job loss. Losing a job often hits guys hard because we have a tendency to define ourselves in terms of the jobs that we do. Thus, losing a job really cuts a guy to the heart. It sounds like it was a layoff since a group of you all lost your jobs at the same time. Therefore, at least you know that the loss was not due to a mistake on your part.<\/p>\n
Job loss is the risk we all take when we work. Businesses don’t always fare well and this year has been particularly hard on businesses. Instead of getting wrapped up in why the job was lost, let’s focus on getting another job.<\/p>\n
First, since I don’t know where you live, find out what sort of unemployment benefits might be available to you. That will help bring in some income while you look for another job. I assume you are still living at home since you mention your mother, so at least food and shelter are not an immediate issue.<\/p>\n
In a lot of ways, finding a job is a matter of being in the right place at the right time. You need to find a place that is hiring for a job that you are qualified to work. The more places you check and apply at, the higher the odds are that you will be hired. Oftentimes people miss opportunities because they believe a job is beneath them, doesn’t pay enough, or they don’t find the work convenient. Just remember that some job is better than no job. You can work at a place temporarily while you look for a better place of employment.<\/p>\n
I know you are depressed, but keep in mind that death doesn’t solve any of your problems. It might seem like an escape, but hell would be far worse than your current problems. While you live, you can improve. “For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion<\/em>” (Ecclesiastes 9:4).<\/p>\n Of course, I’ll pray for you. Consider that when things don’t go your way that there is likely a better way for you to go. God doesn’t directly talk to people today. He said that prophecy ended a long time ago (I Corinthians 13:8-10). This doesn’t mean God isn’t involved. He teaches us through the Bible how to make good decisions and live a godly life.
