At the time Peter spoke David was still in the grave, “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool”<\/em>” (Acts 2:34-35). The resurrection had not yet taken place. The same is true of Jesus’ statement: “No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man<\/em>” (John 3:13). Only Jesus, who left heaven, is able to return to heaven after his death. “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession<\/em>” (Hebrews 4:14). So, yes, those who have died are still in the graves awaiting the call. “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth — those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation<\/em>” (John 5:28-29).<\/p>\nHow you conclude that I might not believe in the resurrection from David saying he would join his child after death is something I cannot figure out.<\/p>\n
