God is in charge of who leads the various nations (Daniel 2:21). At this moment, I have no idea what God’s goals are for the United States. I do know that no government lasts forever. I know that God’s goals are to do what is best for His people and to get as many people to heaven as possible. Nothing says that these goals require the survival of the United States. See The Danger of Assuming God is on “Our” Side<\/a>.<\/p>\n While everyone is focused on the presidential election, I’ve noted that Oregon has legalized all<\/b> drug use. Conservative South Dakota has legalized the recreational use of marijuana — something I would not have guessed would happen. Nebraska legalized gambling after rejecting it for numerous decades. Earlier this year, California softened its laws against adults having sex with minors. Sin is becoming more acceptable and I don’t know when God will decide that this nation is too sinful to continue.<\/p>\n Personally, I hope justice, law, and order prevail and that peace is restored to this nation. But I understand that I don’t know how that is best accomplished in the long-term. It might require a period of injustice and fraud to take place before people do something about it.<\/p>\n The ideas of a “new world order” or that Israel is somehow connected with the return of Jesus is a myth promoted by those accepting premillennialism. It isn’t found in the Bible. See<\/p>\n How does all of this election scandal affect Christians? As far as our beliefs and practices, it has no impact at all. Nations come and go, but God’s kingdom will remain. As far as our ability to live and worship freely, well, that remains to be seen. We know there will be times of hardship.
