I have started reading my Bible consistently, and have a couple of questions: Why do people say that the serpent who tempted Eve was Satan? I don’t see that anywhere. Maybe I missed something? Also, someone once told me that Abram and Sarai were half-siblings, but I can’t seem to find that anywhere either. What do you think?<\/p>\n\t
There are several passages that identify Satan being the serpent:<\/p>\n
“So the great dragon was cast out,\u00a0that serpent of old<\/strong>, called the Devil and Satan,\u00a0who deceives the whole world<\/strong>; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him<\/em>” (Revelation 12:9).<\/p>\n
“He laid hold of the dragon,\u00a0that serpent of old<\/strong>, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years<\/em>” (Revelation 20:2).<\/p>\n
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.\u00a0He was a murderer from the beginning<\/strong>, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for\u00a0he is a liar<\/strong>\u00a0and the father of it<\/em>” (John 8:44).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
