Instead of making your case from the Scriptures, you resort to a distortion of the truth. I never said pornography is acceptable. I have written a lot on the problems of pornography and the article referenced states repeatedly that sexual lust, such as pornography, and fornication are equally wrong. Viewing pornography is a sin. So is lying, murder, stealing, etc. But just because someone is involved in sin, it doesn’t mean a husband or wife can divorce their sinful spouse, especially not with the right to marry someone else (I Corinthians 7:10-11). The only reason for divorce that allows remarriage is fornication and the sin of pornography is not fornication (Matthew 19:9). This is why selecting a spouse must be done carefully — marriage is a lifetime commitment. That you don’t like God’s rules doesn’t change the facts.<\/p>\n
Your argument that pornography is a modern-day problem is false. Pornography existed in both the Greek and Roman societies and I’m sure the problem predates those cultures. The Bible talks about the problem using more general terms, but in condemning lust, the Bible is condemning pornography.<\/p>\n
