Does God hate anyone? And if so, who?<\/p>\n\t
“These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren<\/em>” (Proverbs 6:16-19).<\/p>\n
“Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods whom they did not know, they nor you nor your fathers. However I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, “Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate!”<\/em>” (Jeremiah 44:3-4).<\/p>\n
“For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant<\/em>” (Isaiah 61:8).<\/p>\n
“Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood<\/em>” (Isaiah 1:14-15).<\/p>\n
“I hate, I despise your feast days, And I do not savor your sacred assemblies. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, Nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings. Take away from Me the noise of your songs, For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments<\/em>” (Amos 5:21-23).<\/p>\n
“Let none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor; And do not love a false oath. For all these are things that I hate,’ Says the LORD<\/em>” (Zechariah 8:17).<\/p>\n
“For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously”<\/em>” (Malachi 2:16).<\/p>\n

I know it was a lot of verses, but I wanted you to see the pattern. God hates sin. Period. If you understand this, then consider the people out there who love to sin — yes, such people exist and in droves.<\/p>\n
“The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man<\/em>” (Psalms 5:5-6).<\/p>\n
“The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates. Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup. For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright<\/em>” (Psalms 11:5-7).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Too often we separate the person from his deeds. We don\u2019t like blame to be assigned to anyone, especially to ourselves. But when a person gives himself over to sin, to follow it willingly and purposely, how is his action separate from the person? The fact is that God can lose His love for people who refuse to love righteousness.<\/p>\n
“Just as I saw Ephraim like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place, So Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.” Give them, O LORD-What will You give? Give them a miscarrying womb And dry breasts! “All their wickedness is in Gilgal, For there I hated them. Because of the evil of their deeds I will drive them from My house; I will love them no more. All their princes are rebellious. Ephraim is stricken, Their root is dried up; They shall bear no fruit. Yes, were they to bear children, I would kill the darlings of their womb.” My God will cast them away, Because they did not obey Him; And they shall be wanderers among the nations<\/em>” (Hosea 9:13-17).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But then love can be regained if a person will simply reject their sinful ways. God laid down a path to return, even while we were sinners. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation<\/em>” (Romans 5:8-11). Think about it this way, God showed love to His enemies, to those whom He hates. That is why He expects us to do the same. “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust<\/em>” (Matthew 5:44-45).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
