The person who claimed four years ago stated that I was under judgment, and implied that I would die within a year, wasn’t talking about a general judgment on the world because of the sins of abortion. You twist this man’s words to suit your own purpose. To imply that God’s people who stand opposed to abortion and teach against its horrors will be facing God’s wrath shows no understanding of the justice of God. I’m sure God will do something about the matter if society doesn’t straighten up, but He will do it in His way and in His time.<\/p>\n
Oh, I know about Amos 3:7. It says: “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.<\/em>” The false prophet who wrote four years ago misquoted it; that is why I stated that the statement wasn’t in the Bible. His quotes were, with quote marks:<\/p>\n“I do nothing unless I speak to my friends the prophets first”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
and<\/p>\n
“I do nothing least i speak to my friends the prophets.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Neither one matches Amos 3:7. They don’t even match each other.<\/p>\n
Amos 3:7 does not state nor imply that prophets are always in the world. Israel went through a period of almost five hundred years without a prophet: “‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘that I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but shall not find it’<\/em>” (Amos 8:11-12). Notice that this is in the same book you quoted. During that time, it did not mean God did not act. It was a time of dramatic changes in the world. It doesn’t mean that God didn’t announce in advance what He planned either. That period was recorded in the books of the prophets, especially Daniel.<\/p>\nIn the exact same way, God announced that He would remove the prophets after salvation was brought to the world. “‘In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness. It shall be in that day,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land. It shall come to pass that if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who begot him will say to him, ‘You shall not live, because you have spoken lies in the name of the LORD.’ And his father and mother who begot him shall thrust him through when he prophesies’<\/em>” (Zechariah 13:1-3). Paul gave the same message, stating that once the perfect will of God was recorded, prophecy would end. “Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things<\/em>” (I Corinthians 13:8-11).
