It is so sad to see some members of the churches of Christ adopting the Catholic tradition they observed by celebrating 40 days for their loved ones who have already gone. As you realize, just because Jesus remained for forty days to prove his resurrection, it does not mean this applies to everyone. Jesus is the firstfruit of the dead (I Corinthians 15:20).
