“Cancel Culture”\u00a0 refers to withdrawing support for a person or company because of something said or done that people find objectionable.<\/p>\n
The problem is that people are using their emotions and views as a measure for whether someone else is right or not. There is no impartial judge nor is there a measurement of what was said or done against a law. As Paul pointed out, using yourself as a measuring stick for proper behavior is not wise (II Corinthians 10:12). People have differing opinions. What might be “offensive” to one person is not really a problem to another person.<\/p>\n
On top of this is an attitude that mobs are allowed to inflict damage. But for Christians, we are told, “Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord<\/em>” (Romans 12:19).<\/p>\n It is fine that if you, as an individual, decide not to purchase a product or watch a celebrity’s show because you disagree with a stance they are taking. However, it is another thing to try to damage someone by inciting a mob because of your opinions, which are not based on hard evidence.<\/p>\n\t Well said and easy to understand. Thank you.
