I don’t know if you’ve heard of this. I was watching a video on the Internet the other day that talked about a North American union that is supposed to happen and it suggested the people behind it are the same people behind the union of the other continents and the final step is a one-world government. They already have coins called the Amero which is supposed to replace the American currency. All this is going down and somehow, nobody is aware of any of it because the government controls the media and doesn’t want anyone to know it’s happening until it’s too late to do anything about it.

People have been talking about the government has plans to get tracking chips implanted into people that track humans and have tried to use the Bible, in the book of Revelation, I think, to say that this is the mark of the beast it’s talking about. Would God agree with the government placing tracking ‘chips’ in other humans that track their every whereabouts on the planet and that they could just ‘turn off’ at any given moment and the person is too ‘turned off’? Would God approve of such a thing? I don’t think so.

What if the same government that God gave us somehow became corrupt and try to abuse their power, going greatly against God, and God were to decide to bring judgment upon them? Doesn’t that mean the citizens are in trouble too? We’ve seen in the Bible examples of people who provoked God’s wrath that affected even those around them who had nothing to do with it. Take Jonah for example when he was on the boat with the others before he jumped into the water.

I always was one of those people that believed America is a country, despite some of its rough history, founded on God’s principles and yet there are people of other denominational beliefs who will say America is just waiting to face God’s wrath and God will deliver His out of the country before that happens. They use scriptures in the Old Testament to try and show how it will all ‘go down’.

I’m not one to believe in the hype of conspiracies and I really think it’s silly to believe any of this stuff, but what if I’m wrong? Any truth to this? I almost feel a bit silly for asking about this, but I couldn’t find any sources that refute it so I am starting to wonder.

Thanks in advance. God bless.

Answer:

“Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread” (Isaiah 8:12-13).

Let’s start out by pointing out the silly stuff. There supposedly this secret organization making changes that no one knows about, yet you, an average fellow can read all the details of how this will be accomplished on the Internet and chat with thousands of people who are discussing these secret plans in detail. If this is an example of their abilities, then I can’t see any reason to worry about an organization that can’t keep their secrets secret.

The real point is that conspiracy theories play on people’s fears of the unknown. It is a “secret” society. Everyone knows all their plans, but no one can name who are the members of this group. Hmm.

Yes, people will twist Scriptures to justify whatever they want to believe. Peter told us that a long time ago. “And consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation — as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures” (II Peter 3:15-16). The use of Scripture is no evidence of truth because verses can be twisted. After that is what Satan did to Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4). The question is never whether scriptures are being cited, but whether they are being used accurately in the context originally given.

For example, Revelation states both at the beginning and the end that the things talked about are things that will shortly take place. So no, Revelation is not talking about imaginary remote control devices in our future. There are concepts in Revelation that still apply to our day because history tends to repeat itself, but the book of Revelation is not a prophecy about this day in age.

What is interesting is that conspiracy theories about a secret group taking over the world has been around for hundreds of years. See New World Order (Conspiracy Theory) for a brief history. Much of it is based on false premillennial beliefs which claim that “the Antichrist” will take over the world just prior to Jesus’ millennial reign. The whole foundation is false, so it should be surprising that most of its side issues are also false.

Question: What’s all this talk about a one-world government called the New World Order that has supposedly been taking place and that has been in the works for years?
