The Bible reveals what we all yearn for at times: a fresh start in life! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (II Corinthians 5:17).

What God offers is not a series of cosmetic alterations but an internal spiritual change. In a life-changing relationship with Christ, you can start anew. The kingdom of Christ is the place of new beginnings. The gospel of Christ is the message of a second chance. It has transformed the lives of countless people in the past 2,000 years. The gospel can alter your life for the better as well.

We can have a new start if we are spiritually born again, or regenerated. This is done by the Holy Spirit as His revelation of the word of truth tells us what to do (James 1:18). “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever” (I Peter 1:23).

In this new start, in the kingdom of new beginnings, we know our work for Christ results in eternal consequences. Too many live their entire life in this world never knowing why they were born. In Christ, we have a reason for getting out of bed in the morning. Believing in heaven means not running away from life but running to the One who gives life meaning (Philippians 3:12-14).

The Lord has given us fellow Christians to be our new spiritual family. “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart” (I Peter 1:22). The La Vista Church of Christ is one such congregation near you. They, like you, yearned for a new start and found it in the gospel. They are a part of the kingdom of new beginnings.

We realize that none of us come from a spiritually perfect background. By common obedience to the gospel of Christ, we are a family of spiritual brothers and sisters. We desire each other’s love, understanding, and support. Therefore, we have come together as a church of Christ (Hebrews 10:23-25). We enjoy revitalizing worship, patterned after the original simplicity and beauty of New Testament worship. Our mission is to do the Lord’s work in the Lord’s way.

Do you wish you had a new start in life? The gospel of a second chance is freely available. But this offer is only available for the limited time we have on this earth. We want to hear from you. We want you to be a part of our family.

by Jeffrey W. Hamilton Have you ever wished you could start life all over again? Cheer up!
