I just want to ask for some advice because I am struggling right now. I am a woman who is single. And I met a married man. We accidentally fell in love with each other. I tried everything to avoid him because I know he is married. But even as hard as I tried to avoid him, it still happens again and again. He is consistent with me, which makes me fall more for him. It’s not intentional. That’s why it is a struggle. Later on, he found out that her wife has loved another man, too, who is married also. It caused him joy since there is finally a reason why he needs to divorce his wife. What shall I do now? I am a Christian. This is so hard for me. I don’t know what to do now.<\/p>\n\t
People don’t fall in love by accident. Love is something you choose and it takes effort to maintain (I Corinthians 13:4-8). You treat the concept of love as if it is only a feeling. Love does create feelings, but love is not the feeling itself.<\/p>\n
I get the impression that by “love” you are actually stating that you have been having sex with this married man. If true, then you are trying to disguise the fact that you are committing adultery by calling it “love.” Because of his adultery, his wife committed adultery with another man. Now the husband thinks this gives him an excuse to divorce his wife because she has committed the same crime that he has been committing for a while now.<\/p>\n
Even if he divorces his wife and marries you, he remains an adulterer and you remain an adulteress. “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery<\/em>” (Luke 16:9).<\/p>\n If you want to serve the Lord, you have only one choice: dump the cad.
