I am not concerned as to what the Bible says or not about animals, it contradicts itself. However, I am looking at human behavior and their attitude toward meat.\u00a0 We don’t really care where it comes from, as long as it is cheap.\u00a0 We don’t see the torture, abuse, and violation of these creatures before they are systematically killed.\u00a0 Why do we care?\u00a0 We are but hypocrites.<\/p>\n\t
“Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man–and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things<\/em>” (Romans 1:21-23).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
A claim of contradiction is not proof. As a matter of fact, it is very easy to dismiss something that you don’t wish to follow by making up arbitrary charges that typically have nothing to do with the matter at hand. Yet, people, like you, wish to invoke God and His teachings in support of your cause even if you have misrepresented what is actually said.<\/p>\n
Hypocrisy is when a person acts inconsistently with what they say or claim to uphold. People who understand that God has allowed men to eat meat, also understand that animals must be killed to gain that meat. “Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs<\/em>” (Genesis 9:3). People, such as yourself, claim that they don’t oppose others in eating meat, but they simultaneously oppose any killing of animals, using labels, such as “torture” and “abuse,” to invoke images of arbitrary cruelty. They play the hypocrite because they say one thing and act in a way inconsistent with what they say.<\/p>\n
But tell me, why don’t you spend some of your time protesting the lions, the bears, the wolves, the cougars, the whales, etc? Shouldn’t you be picketing their homes over the cruelty in which they eat their fellow animals?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
