I just recently had a short conversation with someone about abortion. We both agreed that abortion was wrong, but we disagreed with one another on the exception of rape. I do not believe that rape is an exception. Do you? The Bible tells us Deuteronomy 30:19\u00a0“Therefore choose life”.\u00a0<\/em>The person disagreed with me about it because the person said that it was not the woman’s choice to get pregnant. I can understand this statement to the fullest. I believe there is a better decision than abortion. There is no reason to kill an innocent child because that child is still a living being inside the mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:4-5, Psalm 139:13). A better decision would be to give the baby up for adoption. It may hurt emotionally for a while, but sometimes a person has to do what is best for him or her.<\/p>\n What is the best way to respond to the situation of rape?<\/p>\n\t “And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”? –as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just<\/em>” (Romans 3:8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n What people often forget is that evil cannot fix evil. If a person agrees that abortion is the murder of an innocent child (which it is), then it is never a solution to any other evil that might happen.<\/p>\n Yes, the child was conceived against the will of the woman. But many sins result in consequences that affect innocent people against their will. A drunk may swerve into traffic and cause an accident involving people who never drank, yet there may be deaths or severe injuries that they did not choose nor cause but the results must still be born through what life remains.<\/p>\n If the woman doesn’t want the child, then turn the tragedy into a blessing. There are so many couples who want a baby, yet cannot have one.
