If you don’t get baptized, do you not go to heaven?<\/p>\n\t
Assuming you are talking about responsible adults, consider the following:<\/p>\n
“But to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness–indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek<\/em>” (Romans 1:8-9).<\/p>\n
“They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work<\/em>” (Titus 1:16).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But baptism is commanded:<\/p>\n
“Go therefore and\u00a0make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen<\/em>” (Matthew 28:19-20).<\/p>\n
““Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And\u00a0he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord<\/strong><\/em>” (Acts 10:48).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Can people involved in sin enter heaven?<\/h3>\n
“And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight– if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister<\/em>” (Colossians 1:21-23).<\/p>\n
“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God<\/em>” (I Peter 4:1-2).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But baptism removes sins.<\/p>\n
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But\u00a0you were washed<\/strong>, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God<\/em>” (I Corinthians 6:9-11).<\/p>\n
“And now why are you waiting? Arise and\u00a0be baptized, and wash away your sins<\/strong>, calling on the name of the Lord<\/em>” (Acts 22:16).<\/p>\n
“Corresponding to that,\u00a0baptism now saves you<\/strong>–not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience–through the resurrection of Jesus Christ<\/em>” (I Peter 3:21).<\/p>\n
“Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and\u00a0let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins<\/strong>; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit<\/em>” (Acts 2:38).<\/p>\n
“Or do you not know that\u00a0as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus<\/strong>\u00a0were baptized into His death? … knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him,\u00a0that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin<\/strong><\/em>” (Romans 6:3, 6).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Can people enter heaven without the blood of Christ?<\/h3>\n
“Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh–who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands– that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ<\/em>” (Ephesians 2:11-13).<\/p>\n
“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin<\/em>” (I John 1:7).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But baptism puts us into contact with Christ and his shed blood.<\/p>\n
“Or do you not know that\u00a0as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death<\/strong>? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection<\/em>” (Romans 6:3-5).<\/p>\n
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and\u00a0cleanse her with the washing of water<\/strong>\u00a0by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish<\/em>” (Ephesians 5:25-27).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Can people enter heaven without being born into Christ’s kingdom?<\/h3>\n
“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”<\/em>” (John 3:3).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But baptism causes us to be born again into the kingdom:<\/p>\n
“Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you,\u00a0unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God<\/strong>“<\/em>” (John 3:5).<\/p>\n
“But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy\u00a0He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life<\/em>” (Titus 3:4-7).<\/p>\n
“Or do you not know that\u00a0as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus<\/strong>\u00a0were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so\u00a0we also should walk in newness of life<\/strong>. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise<\/em>” (Galatians 3:26-29).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
It has always amazed me that people think they can tell God He is wrong in commanding baptism and still believe they will be warmly welcomed into God’s home. Don’t you believe God?<\/p>\n
