The New King James Version is better, &#8220;<em>He, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption<\/em>&#8221; (Acts 2:31).<\/p>\n<p>The translators of the King James Version rendered both the Greek words\u00a0<em>gehenna<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>hades<\/em>\u00a0as &#8220;hell.&#8221; Only once did they translate\u00a0<em>hades<\/em>\u00a0as &#8220;grave&#8221; in I Corinthians 15:55, which is an accurate translation of the word because\u00a0<em>hades<\/em>\u00a0means the grave or the realm of the dead.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus died and went to the grave, but nothing in the New Testament actually states he went to hell. Instead, Jesus said to the thief on the cross, &#8220;And Jesus said to him, &#8220;<em>Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0(Luke 23:43). Paradise is one side of the realm of the dead (Torments being the other side).
