One does not have to practice a sin to be guilty of sin. Showing approval or giving a sinner encouragement to sin is just as sinful. This is a sin God complained the Israelites were involved. “But to the wicked God says: ‘What right have you to declare My statutes, or take My covenant in your mouth, seeing you hate instruction and cast My words behind you? When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have been a partaker with adulterers’<\/i>” (Psalm 50:16-18).<\/p>\n
This too is why Paul warned Timothy not to create close friendships with wicked people. “Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure<\/i>” (I Timothy 5:22).
