I just read Waiting for the Proper Time<\/a>\u00a0and I think it is wonderful information. I try my best to stay pure and have been in a relationship for almost a year now. I love him and he loves me, and I do want sex, but I will refrain because I know when we get married we can consummate our relationship. But waiting is difficult and Waiting for the Proper Time<\/a>\u00a0got me to hold on a little while longer.<\/p>\n Thank you.<\/p>\n\t Thank you for taking the time to write. It means a great deal to me to know that the work of teaching God’s word is appreciated and, more importantly, making a difference in people’s lives.<\/p>\n Sometimes a person has to do things because they realize that it is their duty to obey God. Jesus once spoke on the topic of forgiveness in Luke 17:1-4. What he told the disciples to do shocked them. They thought it was too hard to do, so they ask Jesus to help them increase their faith (Luke 17:5). Jesus proves that even the faith of the greatest man of faith is very tiny; the point being that even with an increase in faith, the disciples would still find the command difficult. The problem wasn’t their amount of faith, but the fact that they really didn’t want to do what Jesus commanded them. So in Luke 17:7-10 Jesus speaks about the nature of duty. As servants of God, we might not always understand why God tells us to do things in certain ways, we might not always want to do it, we might not feel like doing it, but because we are loyal to God we will do it out of our sense of duty. Even then we can’t say we are someone great because the things we do are only the things God told us to do.<\/p>\n God’s commands are given for our best interest in the long run. There are numerous reasons why sex ought to stay within marriage. But even if you don’t always fully understand, even if you really rather do something else, if, for no other reason, we should follow God’s law because that is our duty.<\/p>\n I wish you the best in the upcoming years.
