A woman who divorces her husband and marries another commits adultery, and a man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Adulterers (all remarried persons) will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Woe unto you for justifying remarriage, and twisting and perverting what Jesus Christ actually taught. Let me guess, you’re remarried yourself, and your original spouse is still alive.

“So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16

Answer:

When a person divorces their spouse for reasons other than fornication and marries another person, they are committing adultery. “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery” (Matthew 19:9). However, this does not mean that all remarried people are committing adultery. For example, marriage to another person after the death of a spouse is not adultery. “For the married woman is bound by law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband. So then, if while her husband is living she is joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress though she is joined to another man” (Romans 7:2-3). Nor does it mean that adultery is limited to remarried people. Adultery is whenever a married person has sex with someone he is not married to or should not be married to. “If there is a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death” (Leviticus 20:10).

While you don’t like Jesus’ stated exception, your grievance is with God and not with the people who are teaching what God has said.

And by the way, I’ve only been married once and remain happy with the woman God has given me.
