If you are too old for a spanking, then that means you are old enough to choose to do what is right. When you choose to do what is right, then you won’t get spanked.<\/p>\n
When you get older, you are going to get “spanked” in different ways. You break a rule at work and you’ll be fired. You won’t be able to go to the boss and say, “But I’m too old to be fired!” You sign a contract for a loan to purchase a car, but you start missing payments and they come and take your car away. I guess you can try pleading that you’re too old to have your car taken away, but it won’t stop them. You go speeding down the road and the policeman pulls you over, pleading that you’re too old to get a ticket won’t help matters. How do you avoid getting into trouble? “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same<\/em>” (Romans 13:3).<\/p>\n While you are a child living in your parent’s home, you are subject to the rules of your home. Breaking those rules will have consequences.
