The church in Corinth was started by the Apostle Paul (Acts 18). He initially taught there for 18 months (Acts 18:11) and returned several times. As an apostle, Paul had the ability to pass on the gifts of the Holy Spirit (II Timothy 1:6). Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that Paul passed on the gifts to members of the church at Corinth while he was there.<\/p>\n\t
