Could I be baptized in a pool if I wanted to?<\/p>\n
One more question and I promise I will leave you alone: Would you agree with me if I said: “the purpose of baptizing is not for salvation, but for a public testimony of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ”? Is the only requirement for baptizing repentance in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ?<\/p>\n\t
The Bible shows people being baptized in lakes, pools, and rivers. The source of water doesn’t matter. The only need is deep enough water to be immersed.<\/p>\n
I don’t mind the questions, so please don’t apologize for wanting to learn. In answer to your question about the purpose of baptism, why don’t we let the Bible state it:<\/p>\n

“Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ\u00a0for the forgiveness of sins<\/strong>, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit<\/em>” (Acts 2:38).<\/p>\n
“He who believes and is baptized\u00a0will be saved<\/strong>; but he who disbelieves will be condemned<\/em>” (Mark 16:16).<\/p>\n
“Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized, and\u00a0wash away your sins<\/strong>, calling on the name of the Lord<\/em>” (Acts 22:16).<\/p>\n
“Or don’t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized\u00a0into his death<\/strong>? We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so\u00a0we also might walk in newness of life<\/strong>\u00a0For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death,\u00a0we will also be part of his resurrection<\/strong>; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him,\u00a0that the body of sin might be done away with<\/strong>, so\u00a0that we would no longer be in bondage to sin<\/strong>.
