See how many examples of the following you\ncan find in the book of Galatians\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Simile: An explicit comparison between two things, usually marked by words such as\n&#8220;as,&#8221; &#8220;like,&#8221; &#8220;such as,&#8221; &#8220;as &#8230; so.&#8221; (Examples: Revelation 1:14; Psalm 42:1)\n<br \/>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Metaphor: An implied comparison between two things. (Examples: John 15:5;\nEphesians 6:17)\n<br \/>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Exaggeration or hyperbole: A deliberate exaggeration for emphasis (Examples: Psalm\n119:20; Matthew 23:24)\n<br \/>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Metonymy: A close association between two objects where one object is used to\nrepresent the second object (Examples: Mark 1:5; Luke 22:20)\n<br \/>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Synecdoche: A portion is used to represent the whole or the whole is used to represent\nthe part. Sometimes seen when a singular noun is used for a plurality or a plural noun is\nused for a single object. (Examples: Mark 1:5; Jeremiah 25:29)\n<br \/>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Personification: An object is given characteristics or attributes that belong to people.\n(Example: Isaiah 55:12)\n<br \/>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n&#10157;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;Irony: A statement which says the opposite of what is meant. A rhetorical question is a\nform of irony.
