Question

Answer:

How many promises can be found in the Bible?

"As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust" (II Peter 1:3-4).

Peter says there are an exceedingly great number of promises, but I don't know of an exact count. I'm sure some have tried to list them. The problem in numbering them is, what do you do about a promise that contains several parts? Do they count as one promise or several?

It really doesn't matter how many there are. What matters is that God has shown that He keeps them all.
